Biodiversity conservation of ancient church and monastery yards in Ethiopia
  • This Project was conducted between 2001 and 2004 through research fund from Department of the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), United Kingdom, Contract no: 162/10/031.
  • The site is to show what has been achieved. The site is produced in English and Amharic and the Amharic site may be accessed from the menu on the left. The achievements thus far are highlighted in the report which can be accessed from the menu on the left.
  • The overall objective of the project was to conserve the biodiversity of the unique and valuable natural forest remnants in the Ethiopian highlands preserved in ancient churchyards and monastery grounds.
  • This site was developed by Dr Zewge Teklehaimanot in 2004, and is no longer actively maintained.
